This company exceeds the definition of customer care and product quality. Please consider them for any projects you may have in mind for yourself. Their selection is vast and, as I stated a moment ago, they are phenomenal with their customer service.
I chose some beautiful glass rose bud knobs, ornate brass pulls and birchwood appliqués to class up my antique vanity piece. This is a gorgeous piece of furniture that had been tormented by a very poor stain treatment at some point. It also had missing drawer pulls and cruddy ones for those couple that were there. However, it had lovely features such as a bowed middle drawer and a curvy apron along with spindled front legs. All it needed was a bit of pretty embellishments to class it up and let its beauty shine.
To me, a classy and classic look is white and black. I never see that combination used in a way I don't love. So, I chose to use white paint and a very dark, near black stain on the top to achieve that classic look that would also highlight the gorgeous new DLawless features.
I sanded the top down to as close to bare wood as possible to remove the horrid stain job and recoated it with a lovely dark stain and polyurethane for protection. It has a rather rustic look as the wood tones change under the new stain versus the old finish. It is quite unique and beautiful in variation.
To emulate the dark tone under the white paint for cohesion, I first stained the appliqués and then painted three coats of snow white milk paint over top. I distressed them with sandpaper and attached them to the drawer faces.
The little areas of light are just sun spots through the trees from shooting outside.
