Distressed and rustic while fancy and elegant, this table is an absolute showpiece.
I like to flip chair and table upside down to paint the legs if possible.
I want to keep this one. Really really badly. I am scouring my rooms trying to configure a place to put it. This once frumpy dull table is now ready to set center stage in a foyer, bedroom, living room, my word anywhere you can place it just to have it be seen. I sanded the top exposing that super hot tiger grain and slathered it in a semi gloss polyurethane for glistening protection. The apron and legs are painted in a subtle gray green custom mixed milk paint by Old Fashioned Milk Paint and then clear waxed in Daddy Van's wax. The once lost carved and curved woodwork is now fully present and strutting its craftsman's stuff. Distressed and rustic while fancy and elegant, this table is an absolute showpiece. I like to flip chair and table upside down to paint the legs if possible.
